Rebel Drinks

A small website for advertising a fictional drink with a target of young adults

About Rebel Drinks

In my 2nd year at Shrewsbury College of Arts and Technology, England, I was taking Website Management. One of the tasks we were given was to take a specification for a company that manufactured "Rebel Drinks" and create a website that would appeal to young adults. The limited amount of information that we were given was all completely fictional, of course. I had to create a logo, animated banner ad, images, content and website design for the project. The complete website also had to be W3C validated (see the button on the main page of the website). For the colour scheme I chose three bright colours then repeated it throughout with the background colours and menu. The final design uses frames where the menu is on the left hand side and the content is on the right.

For the content I had to create 3 sections. I chose an FAQ, contact page and competition page. The FAQ and contact pages are quite sipmle, but with the competition page I created a simple form that the user could use to send their information to the company.

This was the first website design that I really played around with using CSS. I enjoyed teaching myself new techniques while creating it and was very pleased to get top marks. The only thing that I do not like about the design is the quality of the images. Due to my lack in knowledge of how to use the College's image editors I used mostly Microsoft Paint.
